Lavazza Italian Coffee, Qualita Oro – bean is a blend of whole 100% arabica coffee beans for making espresso. It Combines Central American beans for floral aroma and African beans for intense aroma. This is roasted and packaged in Italy.
It was very weak and barely drinkable in my opinionReviewed by smiles, 2010-02-25
This was my first time with Lavazza. The coffee was weak, light,
flavor was OK but not what I was expecting from an Italian coffee.
With the milk (cappuccino) it was barely present as taste.
I drink cappuccinos every day and I use a very good espresso
machine and I can change the type of grind, and the strength and
all that. No matter what combination I used it was just barely
Ok.
If I could I would have returned the coffee.
The Quality is Gone...Reviewed by Naughty Bynature, 2010-02-15
Lavazza Qualita Oro (Gold Quality) USED to be better, more
authentic, more robust, more pronounced, more reliable as one of
the traditional Italian roasts from Italy.
In both a classic espresso, and when making a latte or a
cappuccino, this label was an old reliable. I found my recent
purchase to be a huge disappointment, lacking in aroma but more so,
a weak, flat and downright dull cup of coffee. I do not know what
has been done to lessen the quality, but I now regret not spending
a few more dollars and getting something much more enjoyable, such
as Illy.
Be aware that as a grocery item, Amazon will not accept a purchase
such as this for returns.
Very disappointing.
great coffee butReviewed by G. Trovato, 2010-02-11
there is a fruity taste, not my cup of tea, but a great coffee sticking to super crema.
My favorite online coffeeReviewed by Acheron's Flow, 2010-02-07
Very nice roast. An aroma to die for. This is the best tasting
whole bean I buy at Amazon. First time I bought it, beans looked a
little dry. Nice smell, smallish amount for the price. I was
skeptical. Well not any more.
These beans in a French Press are hard to beat. Smooth full flavor
I just love. The price to wt. value is not that high. Well in line
with others and the taste puts it above many others.
This is why I drink coffee.
Depends on what you're looking for. Not my favorite.Reviewed by Anonymous Italian, 2009-11-24
Not a bad bean, not my favorite either. The flavor is well rounded
with strong herbal scents and related undertones (primarily cut
grass, wild flowers) . It grinds well and brews well. It's not an
overly oily bean and the resulting coffee is not as viscous as with
other blends. It's a more acidic bean than I like.
I prefer the Lavazza Tierra blend, it's oilier and its aroma is
less herbal and more chocolaty. It's less acidic as well.
All that being said, I tried buying Lavazza on Amazon to get the
free prime shipping, but it's not worth it. I'll go back to buying
my favorite beans: Danesi Classic (Kimbo Black Top is very good as
well).
